Heartless Crew’s dedication to their music has led them to become a widely loved and respected name across the UK scene, representing one of the UK’s most dynamic and charismatic street-reared brands in recent years.
At the peak of the garage scene’s unstoppable emergence into the mainstream, Heartless Crew stood alongside the likes of EZ, So Solid Crew, Craig David and Ms Dynamite to bring the genre to the forefront of British music, selling out venues from Aya Napa to Jamaica and beyond on a weekly basis.
The Heartless sound is an eclectic blend of uplifting and energetic entertainment, with DJ Fonti holding down the decks and Mighty Moe and MC Bushkin fronting the vocal energy of the crew. The roots of Heartless stem from Jamaican sound system culture, with their song selections tailored to compliment the vibe of each rave. “We’re a sound system at heart” MC Bushkin explains. “When we came out with Heartless Crew years ago, we were thinking like a crew on board a ship. We’re all working to sail this ship to its destination and we each make up a different piece of the puzzle.”
Around the time they started, Heartless were heavily influenced by the jungle and drum & bass scenes, eventually developing their sound into a mix of easy to consume garage loved by the masses. Their work encompasses a love of a number of genres, defining a perfect combination of these influences into one of their works as a ‘Crisp Biscuit’.
After ticket sales of over 2,000 per week on a consistent basis, Heartless Crew’s electrifying stage presence led them to sold out shows at Ministry of Sound, Koko and Indigo o2. This live success then transcended into the charts – with a top 10 single in ‘Heartless Theme’ and top 20 album in ‘Crisp Biscuit Vol 1’.
With an established track record of keeping the crowd moving, Heartless are a modern rarity live in the flesh. With a credible heritage and a desire to bring an authentic old school feel to new school raves moving forward, they’re certainly not an act to be missed.
