Eddie Halliwell

There’s no doubt about it, whether it’s down to the unique cultural climate or simply something they put in the Bratwurst, it helps to be German if you want to be an amazing techno or trance DJ.

There’s no doubt about it, whether it’s down to the unique cultural climate or simply something they put in the Bratwurst, it helps to be German if you want to be an amazing techno or trance DJ. How lovely then, to see the very brilliant and very English Eddie Halliwell flying the flag for blighty!

Born and raised in Wigan, Eddie is probably most at home when infront of his mixer, using it with incredible skill to create energy and new sounds with rapid cuts and warped, twisted  effects, taking his listeners on an epic journey. It is this ability that has seen Eddie get involved with pretty much every great British institution there is when it comes to Trance music.

Holding residencies at Goodgreef and Gatecrasher, Eddie has also made regular appearances at Slinky, Inside Out, Cream and of course The Gallery, as well as performing at numerous festivals, leaving in his path of musical demolition dancefloors littered with a loving army of longstayers.

Eddie has also done us proud abroad, taking tours around East Asia, Australia, the USA and of course Ibiza, where he played three seasons as resident at Judgement Sundays. Perhaps the most significant twist in his career however, was completing his third Essential mix for Radio 1 alongside Paul Oakenfold at Cream. Not only had Eddie firmly established himself as Trance Royalty, but this glorious occasion also marked his first ‘official duties’ as a Radio 1 resident. This coveted position was the result of years honing his skills on the decks and delivering outstanding guest mixes on Judge Jules and Pete Tong’s regular weekend shows.

To this day a resident of the great BBC, Eddie continues to be an important and influential figure in the world of dance music, still bringing the best of trance to our green and pleasant lands!
