Ministry of Sound Corporate Hire

In June 2008, BT took over Ministry of Sound for their annual Innovation Awards. Previous venue’s including the Natural History Museum and the Bloomsbury Ballrooms meant Ministry of Sound wasn’t the most obvious choice for the seated, black tie event but with a great creative team from BT, Pumphouse Productions and venue knowledge of the Ministry of Sound corporate team the event proved to be a massive success.

Ministry of Sound is used for many varying corporate events, previously hosting award dinners for IPC Media and Associated Newspapers but the production used for the BT Innovation Awards eclipsed anything previously done.

Pumphouse Productions were tasked with transforming the venue into a space which not only made the guests feel comfortable but didn’t try and go against the surroundings. Due to the limitations of the Box room the stage could not be too large due to the floor space needing to seat 170 guests.

The solution was to create a Boomerang shaped stage which was long and thin but with an incredible Mistrip back drop to create the ultimate wow factor as guests entered the room and throughout the event. If you get the chance to use Mistrip on your event, do so as you will be impressed!

Not only was the venue used as an awards event it also had to showcase some of the Innovative products which were nominated for the top prizes. The main bar is a perfect area for product launch style events (Nokia) as all guests entering the venue come into this area creating a visual impact and maximum exposure on arrival as well as offering an aerial walkway allowing guest to look down on the products.

Inn-or-Out provided catering throughout the event with innovative canapés walked around the main bar whilst guests were wowed with the products on display. And once through into the main awards area guests enjoyed an excellent seated 4 course meal with awards being presented in between the courses.

In summary the evening was a great success and all parties involved were thrilled with the outcome and most importantly all the guests had a great time.
