Batman - The Dark Knight filmed at Ministry of Sound

On a quiet Sunday back in September 2007 a large convoy of trucks meandered through the streets of London resembling the famous Christmas advert for Coca Cola. But these trucks weren't carrying Coca Cola...Oh no, these were carrying something a lot more exciting than that!...these were carrying the likes of Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan, Eric Roberts and the whole production crew and kit from the new Batman movie - The Dark Knight!
If you didn't already know the new Batman Movie – The Dark Knight, had just been released one would have to guess you’ve been hibernating for the last 6 months. The Dark Knight has just broken all US Box office records on its opening weekend and is now storming cinemas across the world as one you read this.
Ministry of Sound are very privileged to say the club was used for the Gotham City nightclub fight scene which has created a lot of hype among excited fans, with Ministry of Sound even receiving phone calls and emails asking if it was filmed at the club. It may be a short scene but it’s full of action which at the end of the day is what all Batman fans like the best!
For three days the club was taken over by several hundred crew, cast and extras which seems a lot for what is only 8 seconds of footage in the movies final edit, but hey at least the scene made the movie and didn’t end up on the cutting room floor!
Had it not been for the confidentiality agreement the club had to sign, this story would have been a great marketing campaign for the club at the end of last year but sadly we had to wait until the movie was released before we could say anything.
Ministry of Sound has been open for 17 years and throughout the years the club has hosted some of the best parties not only on a weekend but for corporate clients such as; David Beckham, Nokia, Google, BT, AstraZeneca and many more but this has to be one of the highlights as its not every day the venue features in the biggest movie of all time!
